The Affordable Care Act or the Obamacare came into being as a
law in 2010. The law encompasses various health related provisions
aimed at improving the delivery of quality and affordable
healthcare to all Americans.
In April 2011, an initiative was introduced to reward hospitals by
enhanced reimbursements that improved patient care and
satisfaction. This initiative was effected starting fiscal year
2013.
As a result of this Act coming into being, patient satisfaction has
become a key influencer in healthcare and thereby affecting the
bottom lines of several health care providers in the country.
The patient satisfaction survey reads into parameters such
as-
1. Access to the healthcare facilities
2. Effectiveness of service provided
3. Level of service and communication provided by
doctors to the patients
4. Level of service and communication with the

5. Pain management by the caregivers
