A 1000mg vitamin C tablet was finely crushed and transferred to a beaker where it was diluted with 100ml of water. This solution was heated for a period of time before being filtrated. The filtrate was transferred to a 250ml volumetric flask where it was diluted to the appropriate mark. 25ml of that solution was pipetted out of the volumetric flask and added to a 250ml flask. 5ml of KI, 2.5ml of HCl and 1ml of starch indicator solution was added (to help catalyze the reaction with the appropriate reagents)

This solution was then titrated with 0.005M potassium iodate (KIO3). It was found that 36ml of the KIO3 was required for the solution to reach its endpoint.

Calculate the amount of vitamin C present in the tablet, explaining the various reactions occurring (reaction equations if applicable and comparing the experimental value to the original (actual) value of the tablet (1000mg)
