Key points of the lecture are as follows:-

1. Leadership is defined as the way of articulating your vision (or goal) to other people and help them achieving it on their own as part of a hive-mind that we call an organization.

2. Great organizations are built of a set of purpose and values. They do not deviate from these purpose and values even when sales tumble and profits nosedive. They stick to their belief system irrespective of the noises from outside world.

3. When you hire an employee, you should emphasize equally on their fit with the organizational value system as you judge their fit for any role.

4. The top management should treat all employees as their own children. That means seeing their strengths and weaknesses objectively, highlighting their strengths to the organization, working on how they can overcome their weaknesses, and most importantly treating all employees with fairness.

5. While working in a team, smarter members should be empathetic to dumber members and they should take the dumber members along with them all the way to reach the goal. When a team achieves something, all of the team members should get credit and nobody should be left behind.

6. Employees may not like every work they do, nor they may like doing the same work every day. Nevertheless, if they believe in the purpose and value system of the organization, they will love going to office every day no matter how mundane their work may be. An organization that instils their value system in each and every employee, rips the benefit through greater employee engagement and lower attrition rate. In long term, such organizations also benefit from deeper employee engagement in everything they do, resulting into incidental growth in top-line and bottom-line.
