10 basic assumptions of solution-focused therapy are:

1. We will face problems in our life. These problems are a component of our life. We become humans when we identify our problems and get over them.

2. Problems are enclosed in language and change may occur when interpretation of the language about problems is done properly.

3. When a person interacts with his/her social surroundings, problems occur.

4. A problem may not be understood and then solved. Many a times, a person may realize about the problem after solving it.

5. People have the capacity to bounce back from a problem and they think creatively to solve their problems at hand.

6. Many a times people solve their problems and find solutions but it is not necessary that they should always remember these solutions clearly.

7. People often pursue and move towards ideas or actions based on their strengths rather than their weaknesses.

8. People are likely to tailor their own strategies rather than use a solution which is availably commonly for a problem.

9. It will help a person if he/she sticks to what works out best for them rather than trying or experiencing something for the very first time.

10. Often baby steps towards solving a problem is beneficial rather than making an enormous plan which may not work out.

I agree with all of the assumptions because all of them make sense when we are living our life in this world. We as humans, face problems in our lives and we go on to solve them. We have the spirit to bounce back from a difficult situation in life. We often tend to stick to what works out best for us. We may hesitate to try out something new and often take the help of our strengths rather our weaknesses when we look out to solve a problem.
