Truth effect / Illusory truth effect – information that is displayed more often, regardless of its truth, is often perceived as authoritative.

This is also true with information that is easier to understand. This could affect an accounting researcher because they may have the tendency to attach to incorrect information because they feel that they understand it easier or they have seen/heard it many times while researching.
