Social media is now a part of every day life.it is used by people from all walks of life and it connects people.it is important to understand the general behaviour of the different genders on socail media, what they use it for.71% of women and 62%^ of men use social media.it is not really surprising to learn that women are more social creatures, they tend to use social media for personal connections, staying in touch with friends and family, they are more likely to share information or opinions and be more expressive in general on social media.by contrast, men tend to use social media to gather influence, information, contactxxs and overall status.they tend to be more business like in their approach and use of social media, they are more likely to follow business pages and business accounts than women.that is not to say women don't,they do, but the percentages of men doing so are higher.cyberbullying is a global issue that usually occurs with increased social media usage and women are the main victims of such bullying.social media attacks are mainly targeing women and their integrity.behind every social media platform stand millons of women and they certainly seem to love their mobile phones.A women spend nearly 10 minutes social networking through the mobile web,or through apps every daybwhereas men spend a little less than 7 minutes.all these indicates that the major platforms have varying degress in gender splits.
