answer-
Long term care involves providing the care medical as well as non medical to people especially old people suffering from chronic illness and unable to perform their daily task so It depends on long term facilities and its staff to provide consistent and better quality care to these patients. in order to provide high quality care to residents in long term i would follow the following thing-
Focus on Hiring and managing highly qualified nurses as one way to improve quality of care because qualified nurses what they have to do and what skills and are required to provide services like bathing, medication, feeding, making reports of patient status etc.
Second,i would focus on what patient need and fulfill those needs like privacy of residents, making care to residents all the time, making report on status of health of residents.
The four type of training which i would provide to healthcare staff to make them better healthcare employees are-
Training on Use of technology in which they would be able to use technology like EHR to store, transfer and retreive the patient data and deliver to doctor in long term facility.
second training will be on diversity and cultural training because it has been seen that diversity of culture in patient affect quality of care so employees should treat each patient with respect and care irrespective of their culture.
third i would provide training on healthcare laws like HIPAA so that they do not violate any law while performing their duties like maintain the privacy of patient.
Fourth i would provide casual training which would held on regular interval of times so that they would be able to improve their skills every period of time the casual training held like training on reporting, training on communication, training on other healthcare field related processes to make sure they are performing at their best.
