• 3.Violent video games are not associated with anti-social attitudes or bullying behaviour and are associated rather with increased civic behaviour, says a new study. The study, published in the journal Psychology of Popular Media Culture, suggested that youths often turned towards playing video games to reduce stress and improve mood and considered it as a fun activity.
• Merely being exposed to violent scenes in video games is not enough to provoke anti-social reactions.If players take the role of pro-social characters in violent or gory games then this will tend to influence them to behave in a pro-social fashion.Conversely, having people identify with violent and murderous characters can have a negative effect on behaviour.
• I would say that it really depends upon the person. There are some gamers that play video games because they are already antisocial and have trouble with social situations, so they turn to gaming as a means of "feeling" social at times.It really just depends on the personality of the person playing it at first. Video games doesn't "cause" anything, it's all dependent on the person playing it.
