8) A mass of 9 kg is at rest on a frictionless incline which inclined at 26 degrees. A force of 10 Newtons is applied parallel to the incline, up the incline and another of 23 Newtons is applied perpendicular to the incline, away from the incline. What is the acceleration of the mass in m/s2? If up the incline include a negative sign.

Answer #1

net force along the incline

ma = mg sin x - F

9* a = 9* 9.8* sin 26 - 10

a = 3.185 m/s^2

directed downwards along the ramp

    A crate of mass m = 1.12 kg is on a frictionless incline that makes an angle of θ = 27.6 degrees with horizontal. A force of magnitude P = 7.24 N is applied to the crate in a direction parallel and up the incline, as shown. Write an expression for the acceleration ax of the crate, where positive x is up the incline. Your answer should be in terms of m, P, θ, and g (9.80 m/s2).

    1) A mass of 12 kg is at rest on a horizontal surface. One force of 33 N is applied at an angle of 32 degrees below the horizontal (in the +x direction), and a force of 14 N is applied vertically upward (perpendicular and away from the surface). What is the acceleration (in the x direction) of the mass in m/s2? If in the -x direction, include a negative sign.
