The answer is- d. Genes assort independently in diploids.

For showing independent assortment we need two genes. If we see the experiment conducted my Gregor Mendel, there is 2 genes.

Independent assortment means separation of each gene from one another independently at the time of gamete formation.

So we need 2 genes for it.
