• Lack of economic development and growth- Because of constant tribal warfare, and weak government authority, no development takes place and hence there is no economic growth. There are no industries and the livelihood of people mostly remains agrarian. This spirals as because of no economic development, people cant improve their lives and their children's lives and the whole region remains in poverty for generations.
• Effect on education- Tribal conflicts not only stop education temporarily, they sometimes make it impossible as many people die or flee or in general are put in a situation where normal life is not possible, let alone education. This compounds the effect of no economic development as people are not able to get decent jobs in areas which are relatively stable and growing.
• Social structures- Tribes are a very important part of social lives of rural people. But when tribal conflict happens, it results in whole tribes and their social structures being destroyed sometimes. This results in a complete destruction of social life and the security net the tribe brings. People become social orphans.
• Scarcity of resources- There are only finite resources available and a war results in one side winning more and the other side losing even more. This results in even more conflict and hence, effectively, tribal warfare results in a net deadweight loss of resources in economic terms.
• Burden on society and governments- These conflicts result in many people being orphaned, having no skills etc and this creates additional pressure on government which does not have as much financial capability.
