The oxygen balance table is given below :

Basis : 1kg of fuel

Nitroglycerine 9%

Trinitroglycerine 2%

Ammonium Nitrate 63%

Sodium nitrate  12%

S:G pulp 2%


OB = 35.109 – 2 (7.053) - 0.5 (41.464) - 0.200 - 0.5 (1.411) = - 0.6345 g-atom/kg

We can see that the explosive is slightly oxygen deficient (fuel rich), reduce the fuel content(TNT,NG) or increase the oxidant (AN).
