  1. A researcher wants to know if children will learn to read more quickly based on how their parents approach training them. One group of parents thinks that children learn more quickly if privileges are taken away for not reading. A second group of parents thinks that rewards for reading, while a third group of people think that a combination of removal of privileges and rewards for success will inspire greater reading. To test this, the researcher tests a single group of 8 subjects, who participate in each of the three motivational programs for one week and records the number of books read at the end of each week; those data are summarized below.

From the above table, we can observe that F observed value=7.312558 is greater than F crit value=3.4668, we reject the null hypothesis.

Therefore, there are differences in the motivation strategies on the number of books children read.
