Q 1. During mitosis, cell duplicates it's DNA and divides into two two genetically identical cells. Mitosis is followed by cytokinesis which is otherwise known as division of cytoplasm leading to formation of two daughter cells. If cytokinesis doesn't occur then the parent cell will have more than one nucleus and cytoplasm won't be divided and there won't be any daughter cells.

Q 2. During sexual reproduction offspring receives genetic material both from the two different parents. It also uses the process of meiosis where the crossing over takes place in between the homologous chromosome that pair up and exchange the chromosome between two chromosome. This is how sexual reproduction increases genetic diversity.
