The different factors which influence job offer are as follows:

  • The job role
  • Task features
  • Compensation and benefits
  • Work life balance
  • Career growth opportunities
  • Culture of the company
  • Employer brand

A job offer must be comprehensive and must contain the motivating factors of the candidate, so as to make it appealing. Moreover the job offer must be detailed so as to ensure clarity of information among the potential recruits. The compensation and benefits must be at least at par with the industry standards. This makes a job offer appealing and attractive for a potential recruit.

The new hire orientation is a very crucial process as it is the first interaction of the employee in the new company. The new hire orientation must be comprehensive as that will facilitate the level of assimilation of the new hire in the company. The new hire orientation must be developed in a way that it facilitates socialization of the new hire with the existing employees of the company. Job shadowing, buddy program, etc. are some of the ways in which a new hire can socialize and be made comfortable in the company. This will also give him an insight about the culture and values system of the company.

In olden days, companies used to regard HR as an administrative function of the company. But with time, HRD has proved its merit and has earned a positive in the C-suite of the company. The HRD plays a key role in developing the business strategy of the company. As we all know, human asset is the most critical asset of the company. HRD is required to select the right people for the company and align their interests with that of the company, so as to make them perform their best. HRD is also required to retain the talent as they form the source of competitive advantage for the company. Moreover the cost of recruitment and selection is quite high. Hence the retention strategies are quite crucial in any company.
