1. Most North Americans are strongly individualistic. What are some of the values of Individualists, and do you identify with them?

2. Collectivism and Individualism represent to radically different world views. In the workplace, what can people on both sides of the spectrum do to reconcile the differences?

1) Individualistic means to prioritise one's interests , needs and requirements over the other people such as the groups or team they belong to. People in North America follow individualistic culture as they have an independent mindset and consider themselves self sufficient and non dependent.

The various values of individualism include an autonomic behaviour where a person takes independent decisions and prefers to be self reliance rather than dependable on people.The Individualism is characterised by prioritising individual interests and standing out is considered unique.

2) No my behavior, attitude and values does not resonate with individualism and I don't identify with it. Individualism is based on putting one's need at first before others and valuing self sufficiency. but I rather prefer to be selfless and thus put the interest of others at first over mine because I consider it as being kind towards others. I see dependability as a social norm to make relationships and connections to understand people better.

2) On individualistic side, the employees in a workplace setting can try to sideline their interests several times whenever the need for helping other is more significant and critical compared to their requirements. Providing a helping hand in times of need and supporting others when it doesn't hurt one's interests can be the best way to overcome differences. The people of organization with individualistic culture should try to inculcate values of dependability and start to see it as means of socialising and collaborating rather than seeing it as a sign of weakness or embarrassment. This will help an individualist to develop relationships and reconcile the differences.

The people with a collectivism in the workplace can try to inculcate a reserved behavior and try not pushing other to work according to them or for the. They should try to become a little conscious about their needs and try to solve problems on their own rather than depending on others. But it is also important to confront the individualistic people and talk out the differences to encourage a healthy relationship.
