1.1 Strategy of Tesla Motors
They have a generic strategy of competition that is broad
differentiation. This strategy forms a competitive
advantage which is based on the formation of products that
differentiate the company from other competitive firms in the same
industry. For instance, Tesla's products are competitive a they
integrate environment friendly and advanced technology, considering
the fact that a vast majority of vehicles today utilise 'internal
combustion engines'. In using this competitive general strategy,
the company attracts all prospective customers, who are now very
much attracted in environmentally friendly products.
1.2 Mission
The mission statement is repeated a lot by Elon Musk: “to
accelerate the advent of sustainable transport by bringing
compelling mass market electric cars to market as soon as
possible.”
1.3 Organisational Structure
The Company has a U-form (unitary) of an organisational structure.
This means that the company consists of a structural group of
people for engineering, and another for sales and service. and so
on.
2.1 The positive aspects of Tesla's strategy and mission is that
both of them are environmentally inclined. Their products are more
environment friendly than any of their competitors. This proves
that they are doing there bit towards the earth and want to create
a difference by their products.
3.1 Tesla's long term goal is to accelerate the world's transition
towards sustainable energy.
Their short term goal is to complete Tesla's infamous
Gigafactory.
4.1 There is nothing that can be changed in their strategies,
mission or organisation structure as Tesla has been consistently
proving themselves to be advancing towards environment friendly
products and never stop updating their technology.
