Please explain the basic differences between the serous, fibrinous, purulent, acute, chronic and granulomatous types of inflammation including, what activates them, the types of immune cells involved, the final biological outcome and how can they respond to medications.

2.Also give one example of each of the pathological responses involving inflammation and allergies

1. Serous inflammation: In this type of inflammation there is a protein rich fluid which is given out with a low cellular content. The major examples of this type of inflammation include the inflammations near serous cavity such as peritonitis, and synovial joints.

Fibrinous inflammation: This is the type of inflammation in which the inflammatory material contains a lot of fibronogen and hence the name. This type is generally noticed in the acute pericarditis and gives a bread and butter appearance.

Purulent inflammation: This is kind of inflammation in which the cause is the enzymes produced by the white blood cells. They generally cause the liquifaction of the affected tissues. This will result in the formation of pus.

Acute inflammation: This is a short term process which generally occurs when there is tissue injury. This generally appears within hours or minutes of the injury. It is generally caused along with pain, redness , swelling and heat.

Chronic inflammation: This is an inflammation which is caused in the response to bodies immune system. This chronic inflammation will eventually cause several diseases.

Granulomatous inflammation: This is generally found in many disease conditions. This inflammation is formed by the collection of immune cells called the macrophages. These are formed when the immune system attempts to oppose the foreign bodies but could not.

2. Pathological responses involving inflammation and allergies:

Granulomatous inflammation and the Chronic inflammation are the responses which involve both inflammations and the allergies. Chronic is an inflammation which is caused in the response to bodies immune system. This chronic inflammation will eventually cause several diseases. Granulomatous inflammation is generally found in many disease conditions. This inflammation is formed by the collection of immune cells called the macrophages. These are formed when the immune system attempts to oppose the foreign bodies but could not.

3. Difference between allergic and inflammatory responses:

Allergic response: This is considered to be a immune response which is hypersensitive to a substance that is normally harmless. This would not cause an immune response in everyone. It differs from person to person. This may cause harmful symptoms such as itching, inflammation or even tissue injury at times.

Inflammatory response: This response generally occurs when the tissues are generally injured by bacteria, Trauma , Toxins , heat or any other cause. The cells which are damaged with this generally release chemical like substance histamine , bradykinin and prostaglandins which will cause the blood vessels to leak the fluid into the tissues.
