Please explain the basic differences between the serous, fibrinous, purulent, acute, chronic and granulomatous types of inflammation including, what activates them, the types of immune cells involved, the final biological outcome and how can they respond to medications.

Serous-it is the least severe form of inflammation The outcome of serous inflammation is exudate is absorbed and normal and structure is restored. It is the mildest form, excess thin watery clear serous fluid, blisters in burn and inflammation of seroys sacs.

Fibrinous-Tissue durfsces are red and covered with a thick, stringy, elastic white to yellow exudate. Characteristic type of inflammation is seen in lining of body cavities. Increased vascular permeability allows large molecular weight proteins like fibrinogen to leak. Tissue response is characterized as an exudate.

Purulent

It is otherwise called suppurative or pyogenic inflammation. It is an acute exudative inflammation caused by pyogenic organisms. It may occur on serous membranes, on mucous membranes and in the Interstitium. It may cause empyema, the collection of pushing in anatomical cavities. Inflammation is only on surface and not interstitium. So damage is usually not very prominent.

Acute

It is the inflammation of mucous membranes. Tissue response is a thick gelatinous fluid containing mucous. Goblet cells increase their secretion of mucous to protect the damage of epithrlial cells. Increased mucous enhsnces ciliary beating on epithelial cells, which helps to clear the pathogens.

Chronic

Inflammation of prolonged duration in which active inflammation tissue destruction and art we mpts St repair are proceeding simultaneously.

Granulomatous

Macrophages are dominat cell type. It is so chronic inflammation. In this three features occurs such as acute inflammation, tissue destruction and attempts at repair, caused by persistent bactetia, prolobged ecposure to toxic agent and some fungal infections.
