This service will operate online and can be easily accessed through Android or iOS mobile apps.
A Market segment, to which this business will be able to cater mainly, is the elderly group i.e. above 50-60. So, survey could be conducted among these elderlies of the area. A database of such people can be gathered from the local municipal office and a door to door survey could be conducted to know people’s perspective/ acceptance level of such a service.
Competitors in the segment are the local medicine shops who home-delivers medicines, the local nursing homes that provide doctor service or ambulance service or nursing services that provides nurses to such elderly people. It should be understood that though the concept of integrating these aspects is unique, individually these services do exists and poses a real threat in terms of their years of existence and experience.
So, the course of action for this startup should be of taking these existing services into confidence and making them ready to work for it. A tie up should be established with reputed medicine shops, nursing services and nursing homes on commission basis on each service. This tie up will help the existing services to get customers easily and will help them maintain a constant touch with them against a commission of 5-10% paid to the start-up on each service. This should be an initial arrangement, and slowly but gradually the startup should inject more money into the business, if potential returns are realized, to grow it further to bring all nursing homes, medicine shops and nursing services under its umbrella.
