The way of doing business has changed a lot from what it was few years back and today the level of competition is very high both in terms of quality and quantity and therefore the margin for error is very less. The conventional role of managers have changed a lot and just playing a functional role will not suffice as the demand and requirements are being changed and hence a techno functional role is being preferred where the manager will be a manager, a leader and an individual contributor for the organization. An amalgamation of management skills, decision making skills leadership skills and problem solving skills are required which was not much of a requirement few years back.
