Ans :- BLOOD TESTIS BARRIER IS MAINLY FORMED BY THE "SERTOLI CELLS" and partly by the basal lamina. See the below fig for detail structure

Function of blood testis barrier:-

Testis is a immunoprevelaged site in the human body ... Which means that sperm antigen are never exposed to the blood cells of our body. If sperm will come in contact with immune cells of our body , immune cells will detect it as foreign antigen and will start producing antibody against it which will result in autoimmune distruction of all sperm in our body leading to sterility..

So to protect sperm from immune system of our body we have blood testis barrier

Blood testis barrier also prevent transmission of harmful substance present in blood to come in contact with developing sperm and protect them from damages.

The fluid in the lumen of seminiferous tubules is quite different from plasma; it contains very little protein and glucose but is rich in androgens, estrogens, potassium, inositol and Glutamic and Aspartic acid. This composition is maintained by blood–testis barrier.
