Your school or workplace advocates to eliminate one of the five characteristics of bureaucracy. They are asking for YOUR vote. Which one would you vote to eliminate? Why? And, what are the consequences?

I would vote to eliminate Official Record. Official record is one of the 5 characteristics of bureaucracy. I think the rest of four characteristics which includes specialization, hierarchy, rules and regulations, Impersonality are very important which can't be avoided. Official records to be kept are not that much important as book keeping is recorded to determine the growth, errors and fraud, if plans, rules and regulations are implemented correctly then it will not required to keep boom keeping.

However, the consequences could not be good if we will eliminate any of the characteristics of bureaucracy and if we remove the official record part then it will be difficult to ascertaining the limitations of the organization. It will also create misunderstanding between people as their will be no record then dispute will arise and in case of any legal dispute then it will lead to create legal problems.
