What are some lessons that can be learned from the onset of keylogging and phishing attacks on electronic banking (implying that any point in time a little but non-zero part of customer accounts will be subject to criminal control)?
Both the keylogging and phishing attacks are a great threat to modern electronic banking. A keylogging attack is an act of tracking and recording each and every keystroke, made on a computer without the permission of the user whereas phishing attacks occur when an attacker, masquerading as a trusted one, dupes a user, opening a mail or any kind of messages. Both are used to record sensitive information like password, login, credit card information, etc. So one should have some lessons that can be learned from the onset of keylogging and phishing attacks to make their banking safe and secure. The lessons are the following.
Careless internet browsing should be stopped.
Any malicious link or attachment should not be opened.
The system should be checked with reputable anti-malware software.
A web filter should be deployed to block malicious websites.
The passwords should be changed and bank transactions should be monitored regularly.
Passwords and other banking information should not be revealed to any unknown website.
Any sensitive information should be encrypted.
A SPAM filter should be deployed to detect virus, blank senders, etc.
HTML email messages should be disabled.
