Pfaffl equation is used to calculate relative gene expression data while accounting for differences in primer efficiencies.

Plaffl formula

Gene Expression ratio = (EGOI​​​​​​) delta Ct GOI/(EHKG​​​​​​) delta Ct HKG

Where E refers to the primer efficiency

GOI refers to gene of interest

HKG refers to house keeping gene

Ct means cycle threshold.
