What are the different tests that can be carried out to determine if a transistor is good?
To test a transistor, we measure one diode junction (since transistor consists of two diodes connected back to back) by using a multi-meter. one side of the diode should read a very high resistance and on switching the polarity it should read a much lower resistance and vice versa.
The following test can be perform to determine whether the given transistor is of good condition or not:
1. Base to Emitter test
2. Emitter to Base test
3. Collector to Emitter test
4. Emitter to Collector test
5. Base to Collector test
6. Collector to Base test
On performing the above test we should observed that each pair must have one side a very high resistance mostly in the Mega-Ohms range and the other side a much lower resistance of a few hundred thousand ohms. If this is the case for each of the transistors leads then we can conclude that the given transistor is of good condition otherwise it is defective.

Suppose that three hypothesis tests are carried out, each using significance level 0.05. What is the worst-case probability of a type I error in at least one of these tests? 0.05 0.15 0.3 1
(a) Describe the tests carried out on a single-phase transformer to determine its equivalent circuit parameters and explain how each parameter is determined based on the test results. (b) A 2200/220 V, 15 kVA, single phase transformer has the following equivalent circuit parameters: The HV winding resistance and leakage reactance are 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω respectively. The LV winding resistance and leakage reactance are 0.012Ω and 0.03 Ω respectively. The magnetic circuit resistance and reactance referred to the HV side are...
5. A series of Shear Box tests were carried out on a dry sand in the compacted State and in a loose state and yielded the following results a. b. Normal Load(N) Peak Shearing Load (N) Compacted Sand Loose Sand
2. Experiments are carried out on a plastic extrusion die to determine the relationship between the mass flow rate m and the pressure difference P. We expect the relationship to be of the form m = AP”, where A and n are constants. The measurements yield the mass flow rate m for different pressure differences P as: m (kg/h) 12.8 15.5 17.5 19.8 22.0 P (atm) 10.0 15.0 20.0 25.0 30.0 Obtain a best fit to these data and determine...
