Zone of inhibition:
The area of clearing around antimicrobial disks that depends upon
the sensitivity of bacteria to the specific antimicrobial agent.
The results may If an antibiotic stops the bacteria from growing or
kills the bacteria, there will be an area around the wafer where
the bacteria have not grown enough to be visible.
The size of the zone of inhibition indicates the degree of
sensitivity(susceptibility) of bacteria to a drug. A bigger area of
bacteria-free media surrounding an antibiotic disk means the
bacteria are more sensitive to the drug the disk contains.
Colonies grows within zone of inhibition means colonies are resistant mutants. These colonies are resistant to the antibiotic.
In such patients an MIC determination might be appropriate. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) is determined when a patient does not respond to treatment thought to be adequate, relapses while being treated or when there is immunosuppression. It is generally regarded as the most basic laboratory measurement of the activity of an antimicrobial agent against an organism. Because a lower MIC value indicates that less of the drug is required in order to inhibit growth of the organism, drugs with lower MIC scores are more effective antimicrobial agents. The lowest concentration at which the isolate is completely inhibited (i.e., absence of visible bacterial growth) is recorded as the minimal inhibitory concentration or MIC.

Laboratory Report 9 Pure Culture Techniques A. Results 1. Evaluation of Streak Plate Show within the circle the distribution of the colonies on your streak plate. To identify the colonies, use red for Serratia marcescens and yellow for Micrococcus luteus. (Use purple for Chromebacterium violaceumi and yellow for E. coli if these species were included in your mixed culture.) If time permits, your instructor may inspect your plate and enter a grade where indicated. Grade 2 Evaluation of Pour Plates...

Often within clearing zones on the spot test, you may observe tiny colonies of bacteria that have somehow not been lysed by the phage. Give one explanation of what these colonies might be (besides contamination)

Suppose you found yourself living in the habitable zone of planetary system with a dimmer or bringter star than our Sun. What else would be different ? Your location? Available light and heat ? Deadly radiation? What are some of the concerns we have regarding our own Sun?
B. Describe your desired leadership role in this organization. What is your level of leadership within the hierarchy? What is the role of the person that you would report to? What are the roles of the people who report to you? Approximately how many people would you likely be leading (direct reports, as well as other people who may be in the department you are leading).
