Explain how the bird and mammal myogenic hearts keep beating.
In birds and mammals heart, contraction is initiated by a special modified heart muscle known as SA node. It is located in right atrium. The SA node has the inherent power of generating a wave of contraction and controlling the heart beat. Hence,it Is known as the pacemaker. Since the heart beatIs initiated by the SA node and impulse of contractions originates in the heart itself, it is called myogenic.
SA node continuously releases impulses and the heart contracts through the conduction system.
Assume you are dealt the following hand in poker: K of hearts, Q of hearts, 10 of spades, 3 hearts, 7 clubs. If you keep the King of hearts, the Queen of hearts and the 10 of spades, find: P(Straight)…be sure to consider both 9-King and 10-Ace. as far as how many cards are left to be selected from, assume there are 47 ( that is, don't consider the cards in other players hands)
Assume you are dealt the following hand in poker: K of hearts, Q of hearts, 10 of spades, 3 hearts, 7 clubs. Suppose you decide to keep the King of hearts and the Queen of Hearts, and the 3 of hearts, find: - P(flush in hearts) - P(pair of Kings or a pair of Queens or a pair of both Queens and Kings) - P(3-Kings or 3-Queens) as far as how many cards are left to be selected from, assume...

Explain in terms of Newton's laws each of the following: How does beating a rug clean it? How does a hummingbird or a helicopter hover in midair? What are the external forces acting when an automobile is traveling on a level road at a constant speed?
1. Use Boyle’s law and the anatomy of a mammal to explain how inhalation and exhalation occurs. 2. What is the difference between external gills and internal gills? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? 3. Structure determines function: what features are common in different respiratory organs, and how do these features help with gas exchange? 4. What challenges to gas exchange do aquatic animals face? Terrestrial? 5. What is a “countercurrent exchange system”? Explain its role in fish gills. 6.Amphibians...
Please help and explain You find an ancient mammal frozen in a glacier. You suspect that it is a member of an extinct species of sloth. Contemporary sloths have a DNA G-C content of 66%. You are only able to determine the amount of Thymine from the frozen specimen (T = 17%). Is your frozen mammal a member of a different sloth species or the same as modern sloths? Explain.
How would you use Bernoulli's and continuity eqn to find force lifting bird up? Please explain.
How do vertebrate circulatory systems differ in structure and efficiency? Use the amphibian, fish, and mammal system for your comparison. Describe the structure of the human heart; explain the movement of blood flow through the heart, lungs, and body. Your answer should be specific. Please answer in text
Styles Styles Pane 2) a. Using the scientific literature, find the respiratory surface area for two non mammal and non bird species from different lineages of animals (a snake and fish for instance or insect and a octopus) (include the species name and body mass). b. Compute the body surface area and body volume of 10 g and 200 kg mammal using the equation SA 10 x body mass0 667 where SA is in cm2 and body mass is in...
