Reliability of battery = e-1/10 = 0.90

z value for 1 hour for battery wearing out = (1-5)/.5 = -8, F(z) = 0

Probability of battery not wearing out in 1 hour = 1 - 0 = 1

Probability that the laptop will perform reliably during a one-hour exam = Reliability of microchip * Reliability of battery * Probability of battery not wearing out in 1 hour

= 0.95*0.90*1

= 0.855
