3. Elliott, a 54-year-old pilot who lost one leg below the knee while flying helicopters during the Vietnam War.

4. Kim, a 14-year-old black student.

5. Maria, a 32-year-old Hispanic with a hearing disability.

6. Knox, a 24-year-old Mormon who graduated from Harvard and is in perfect health.

7. Sam, a 30 year-old, white male who is applying for a job as a waiter in a family owned Chinese restaurant.

8. Sally, a 50 year-old, white female who has worked with her company for 15 years and now needs to take time off work to care for her terminally ill husband.

9. Tom, a 45 year old male, who has worked with his company for 10 years, has cancer, and has just been downsized from his job.

10. Sue, a 26 year old, who is pregnant and looking for a job.

1. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)– This act would prevent Imara, if a qualified applicant from discrimination of having a chronic illness and also require the company to provide “reasonable accommodations” so Imara can perform the job.

2. i)Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)-This law will protect Medgar because he is over 40 years of age by restricting mandatory retirement.

ii) Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) – This law requires health insurance benefits to be extended after termination from the job.
