Imagine that you just started a new job at ABC Car Sales. You’ve been given the task of adding all the new and used car inventory to a new database management system (DBMS). You would like to manage the new and used car sales in the new DBMS.

For Part I of the project, complete the following steps. Your normalized entity relationship diagram can be created by hand, or in PowerPoint. If you decide to hand-write your ERD, please scan and submit it as a PDF fie. If you create your ERD in PowerPoint, please submit as a PowerPoint file.

  1. Identify which entities should be normalized.
  2. Create a normalized entity relationship diagram. In your diagram,
    • show the relationship between the tables
    • include notations and symbols as needed

Drawing your ERD

To draw your ERD, you can use either of the following methods:

  1. Your ERDs can be handwritten, scanned, and submitted as a PDF.
  2. You can use PowerPoint to draw your ERD and submit as a PPT or PPTX file.
