Bulk CdSe takes a wurtzite crystal structure, where the crystal lattice structure is show in Figure 1a. The black circles are Cd atoms, and the white circles are Se atoms. If I tell you that atoms entirely in the lattice contributes 1 atom, atoms on faces of the lattice contribute 0.50 of an atom, atoms on edges of the lattice contribute 0.25 of an atom, and atoms on corners of the lattice contribute 0.125 of an atom, calculate how many atoms of Cd and Se are in the unit cell. Make sure to show your work.

Aside from the nanoparticles you synthesize, you will collect UV/Vis spectra of two samples that have been purchased. These two samples are suppose to have absorption peaks roughly at 560 and 600 nm (each + 10 nm). Assuming that these are the wavelengths where the absorption peaks are observed, calculate the size of the particles. Note that you will do this calculation again after the laboratory with the actual absorptions maximums.
