Based on the writings of Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, how would you modify the stages of death and dying if you were designing this model? If you believe that her model does not warrant modification, please state your rationale for maintaining each of the stages as presented...

STAGES OF DEATH AND DYING -

Stage 1- DENIAL - Main characterstic- Thinking the newes never happened . Person would continue life as if nothing happened.

Treatment option- Force the person to anger

• Modification- Person should not be forced into anger , as it can dangerous and situation can be suicidal as a whole . The other joys and perks of life can be revised infront of the person , can be proved moral boosting . But it will never be dangerous , as unnecessary forcing him/her to anger which can be an otherwise incontrollable state .

Stage 2- ANGER-

Person uses phrases "Why me " , "Why not him/her " .  

Treatment- Just letting the person be angry with you.

• Modification - No modification required , as now the person has finally landed to an uncontrollable state of anger , its better the emotion pass off , and then give him/her some space and re-channelize his anger into some another useful frame if possible.

STAGE 3- BARGAINING-

Avoids having the tragedy happen . Person hopes that the news shall reverse .

Treatment- Not to give false hopes

• Modification- No modification required in the reatment , as providing any false hopes will lead to a bigger damage.

STAGE 4- DEPRESSION-

Person realizes that the tragedy will happen , and their is nothing to do .

Treatment- Be there , lend your ear and listen their grief .

• Modification- Treatment can be modified by not just listening ,. but also explaining them the situation or circumstances , which are more adverse and threatening that could happen but have not happened.

STAGE 5- ACCEPTANCE-

Person is stabilized by this stage and is now willing to move on in life.

Treatment- Help the person by all means to settle in their new endeavours and beginning .

• Modification- No modification required , help the person to move forward in life will all positivity and grace , leaving no room for them to return to the previous stages.
