It is Neurohormone in Mammas , present in both sexes , to regulate physiological and behavioral process .It is produced by Hypothalamus and stored and secreated to bloodstream in response to uterus contraction from pea size str at base of brain Posterior Pituitary gland . It's primary function is to stimulate contraction of uterus thus causing labour pain & milk ejection and also promote maternal nurturing behaviour .Basically Oxytocin is best known for its role in female reproduction and disscoverd by Henry Dale in 1906. Some time also called as "love hormone".
