with a hurricane, what do you encounter first, the outer convective band or outer squall line?
At the center of the Hurricane remains the eye of the Hurricane. This area is very calm and surrounding this region remains the eyewall. Convective zone is the part just outward of the eyewall. Whereas squall line is the frontal portion of the cold front that surrounds the hurricane from outside. This is the limit of the hurricane and remains in between the hurricane and the outer undisturbed boundary layer. So, moving from outside of the hurricane(towards the center of the hurricane) we encounter the squall line first and then the convective zone.

You are attempting to determine the spring constant of a rubber band. To do this you hang an 82 N weight from the rubber band and measure its length to be 0.62 m. You then hang a 195 N weight from it and measure the length to be 0.87 m. Now you can calculate the spring constant of the rubber band. What is it?
