Temperature cycling tests are the method of increasing the product life due to the change in temperature in normal uses .

These can either be due to the environmental changes or self - heating .

Proper care must be taken of the specified upper and lower limit temperatures. In size consideration , heavier parts will require high dwell time and light parts require low dwell time .

The time must be given to the parts to equilibrate with the following air temperature . The weight of the specimen is in the range of fatigue test so that it sustain the higher fatigue test and temperature conditions .
