Contingent Projects are those projects whose acceptance and non-acceptance is contingent or dependent on other project's acceptance or rejection.

1) Goldman Sachs US Financial Banking Company may decide to operate to retail clients (Marcus) in US depending upon its Success in other parts of India.

2) Hearing Aid. Australian Company Cochlear may decide to expand its foot prints in the Indian Market with respect to a new product launch, depending upon it's Success in Australia (Trial Run)

3) For Building a factory in a remote area, the roads and other infrastructure needs to be heavily invested, so as to attract work force.Therefore building a factory will also require investments in other infrastructure facilities.Contingent Investments are those where the choice of one investment types makes the choice of one or other investments.

4) Opening up of a pharmacy in a locality may be influenced by decision of doctors to open up a surgery in near by locality.

5) Two different brands of biscuits are two different projects. The success of one project would mean non acceptance of the other project.
