Curcumin is a compound found in turmeric which has antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the bacterial growth by collapsing the cell wall of the bacteria. Based on various researches, the three bacterial species are ranked according to the least resistance to comparively more resistance order.

1) Exterobacter aerogenes - MIC value is ~5 mcg/mL

2) Bacillus subtilis - MIC value is ~10 mcg/mL

3) Pseudomonas putida - MIC value for curcumin is unknown; however, it is found to be resistant to more antibiotics when compared with the other two competitors.

Here, MIC is the minimum inhibitory concentration of a drug required for the prevention or stopping the growth of microorganisms.
