Question: Does Direct Cache Access (DCA) ever access Level 1 (L1) cache? Why?

Answer:

Direct Input Output (DIDO) is commonly called as term Direct Cache Access (DCA) this technique / mechanism is called to use Input/Output in an intensive big data work-loads. DCA is to extend  the protocol between NIC and memory-controller.

Using Direct Cache Access Accessing Level 1 (L1) Cache. Acccesing level 1 (L1) Cache using DCA will have huge impact and major affects on other caches.

=========================================

Problems seen in accessing Level 1 Cache using DCA

***** Need to use Level 1 Cache effectively and efficiently, If not used effectively this will need to bottle-neck and performance impacts.

***** Level 1 Cache Access will affect other Cache performance and slowing down the functionality of other caches

***** Space (Memory-Related) problems will encounter in using level 1 cache

***** Program which access Level 1 Cache should be very constraint and hold less memory consumption.

=========================================

Above are the issues in accessing L1 Cache from DCA.

But in the developed technology many programmers have given optimization solutions to use the Level 1 cache effectively and efficiently by using DCA.
