what type of systems are good candidates, from a network perspective, for going behind NAT/PAT devices?

Answer:

NAT is present in Layer 3 as per OSI Model

PAT is present in Layer 4 as per OSI Model

So going behind Layer 4 and layer 3 devices, then we need to describe Layer 2 devices and supported systems

Layer 2 is - Data Link Layer and this uses System Devices like : Bridge,Modem,Network Cards,2-layer switches

Any system as mentioned above are considered as good candidates, If they pass below basic criteria's as mentioned, this are derived from network perspective.

** Global Network Connectivity across systems

** Stability of the System.

** Network Security and Integrity of the systems to be also considered

As per OSI Layer Protocol , below given some points

** Major Systems to be used on in different Layers are mentioned below

** conceptual model of telecommunication systems how it works
