In principle, it is very clean and sustainable process because it uses water and sunlight as a raw byproduct. Answer the following questions. (total 25 pt)
(c) Find the mathematical expression of relationship between pH and a half cell potential (vs. Ag/AgCl) for both cathodic and anodic reactions. (5 pt) (d) Based on your finding in (c), draw a Pourbaix diagram for water electrolysis. Using your Pourbaix diagram, determine which species (H2, O2, and H2O) thermodynamically stable at a given potential and pH. For your information, a Pourbaix diagram is a plot of the equilibrium potential of electrochemical reactions against pH. (5 pt)
