Health care is governed by a number of the ray of rules, regulations, ethics, and laws.

  • Patient’s confidentiality i.e. information about a patient’s medical condition is private and violation of this leads to legal consequences. Leakage of private information can hurt someone’s sentiments and emotions and also can harm them.
  • If a patient is harmed with malpractice or negligence they can file a complaint against it under the action of ethical law. Due to the ever-present threat of litigation, health care workers should cover all the bases in the course of providing patient care.
  • Unless a patient provides informed consent to the health care provider for any medical treatment to be considered legal, that procedure can be considered as an assault. It means a patient has the full right to know about the benefits and risks involved with the medical treatment.
  • Training of medical ethics promotes compassion toward patients and their family members.
  • Autonomy is an important part of ethics. In refers to the right of the patient to retain control over his/her body and physicians can only advise them.
