  • To maintain self dignity, self respect,professionalism to the healthcare professionals and to the patients during and after a conversation
  • To avoid patient's expressing their intimate personal feelings and respecting the staff
  • It helps to be matured enough to handle multicultural, multi diversified patients
  • It can reduce ethical conflicts
  • If not practiced by a nurse it can affect the quality of care rendered to other patients who have a similar disease condition or prognosis
  • It can defame the name of the healthcare professionals in most of the times majorly due to misconduct behavior
