Methamphetamine is a highly stimulant addictive agent that act centrally. Methamphetamine will increase the dopamine level in the brain when taken internally making the user a feel to have the drug again. This can be taken orally a pulls, or by smoking or injecting. This stimulant drug make the user wakeful and increased physical activity. Methamphetamines are used as abuse drug by many peoples including athletics inorder to boosten up their performences. Those people who inject the drug are at the risk of various infectious disease like HIV, hepatitis etc. Long term use of methamphetamine can lead to various health related issues like memory loss, sleeping problems, extreme weight loss, hallucinations etc. Also it can lead the damage in brain dopamine system leading to impairment in the coordination. As per a study people who use this drug for a long time can suffer with parkinsons disease. Long term use of methamphetamine can sometimes lead to death. There is no government approved treatment for the abuse of methamphetamine, but the condition can be enhanced by the behavioural therapies.

Methamphetamine is prescribed by the doctors for various health issues including, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, since the drug have the potential to pay attention. People who use this medication should read the leaflet proveded along with the medication to get the knowledge of drug. This should be used as per the guidlines provided by the pharmacist and the physician and the patients should be closely monitered by the health providers. Sudden withdrawal of the drug can show some symptoms like mood changes and sleep problems.
