In nursing practice, the reason is more important that impartiality in moral decision making. Impartiality is also a desirable quality but it is neither above reason nor a substitute for reason. Morality in nursing means ensures the best care to patient while adhering to all professional and legal principles of nuring practice. In nursing practice,nurses need to prioritize patients' needs and plan interventions according to those needs. When nurses are assigned with more than one patient, they will also required to classify patients in to those who require more attention and care and those who are stable. This obviosly does not imply that stable patients don't need attention, ut, nurses will have to devote more time to patients with life threatening conditions. If a nurse is assigned only one patient this problem even doesn't arise. ut, due to shortage of qualified nurses and other issues nurses even at ICU are assigned more than one patient. In the above-discussed case if a nurse chooses to apply the principle of impartiality rather than reason it will not be the best moral decision.
