Answer #1

15) Total volume of fluid D51/2 is 1liter that is 1000ml

Start time is noon by 2pm

Flow rate is 120ml/hour

200 ml of fluid initially is given bolus in 30mins

Then ,200ml + 120 ml × (from 2.30 pm to 6pm ) total time till then is equal to 3.30hrs .

So, total amount infused in 3.30hrs = 120+ 120+ 120 +60 = 420ml + 200ml(given initially) = 620ml of fluid infused till 6pm

Then out of 1000ml ,620 ml will be infused till 6pm and remaining fluid will finish/ run out by 21:15pm ( 60+120+120+80)ml in 3:15hrs.

She will not need another bag of IV fluid before she leaves work at 6pm.
