ANSWER) The ANS or Autonomous nervous System is a subdivision of peripheral nervous system which provides the glands and smooth muscles and consequently effects the role of internal organs.ANS is a control structure that takes action mostly unconsciously and controls physical activities like the digestion, cardiac rate, urination and also we can say that this structure is the initial apparatus in regulation of the fight-or-flight response.
In the brain,ANS is controlled by the hypothalamus. The Autonomic responsibilities involve regulation of respiration, heart regulation, vasomotor activity and some of the reflex actions like the swallowing, vomiting and sneezing etc..Then that are further divided into other regions and are also associated to Autonomous Nervous System subsystems and the Nervous System outside to brain. The hypothalamus is situated superior to the brain stem and which represent as an integrator for the autonomic activities, accepting Autonomic Nervous System regulatory particulars from limbic system to do that.
The ANS is having 3 divisions and that are sympathetic Nervous System,Parasympathetic Nervous System and lastly the Enteric Nervous system.Sympathetic Nervous system is usually regarded as the Fight or Flight System.Parasympathetic Nervous System is usually Regarded as the Rest and Digest system. In some instance, the Sympathetic Nervous System and the Parasympathetic Nervous System have opposite activities in which one system operates a physiological response and the another one discourage it.An historic clarification of both the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems as excitatory and inhibitory was reversed because of lots of irregularities found. One of the most contemporary characterization is that,Sympathetic Nervous System is fast response generating system and parasympathetic Nervous System is unhurriedly operated moistening system, but in some cases this is also having some deviations like the sexual arousal and orgasm.
One Disorder of ANS is Neurocardiogenic Syncope or NCS.
The NCS can be also called as the Vasovagal Syncope. It is a usual reason of Syncope or the fainting.Fainting is a reason of unexpected speed reduction of the blood flow to brain and may be activated by the dehydration, standing or sitting for a large duration, hot environments and hard emotions. The peoples may frequently have sweating, nausea, increased fatigue and a feeling of sick.
As a part of treatment, increased invasive therapies have done in the clients with the Neurocardiogenic Syncope because of a dominant cardioinhibitory response. These proceedings involves the pacemaker implantation and also a new treatment called the cardiac ganglion ablation, which do not need a lifelong instrument implantation.
