Answer #1

HYDROCEPHALUS DISORDER

it is characterised by head enlargement in infants or kids , and experience of headache, impaired vision, loss of coordination and cognitive difficulties in adults . It is a build up of fluid in the ventricle within the brain, and this excess fluid increases the size of ventricles and puts pressure on the brain which can damage brain tissues and cause a range of impairment in brain function.

In this the parents should take care of their child and go for their Regular Treatment because if it is left untreated then it may cause a major damage. But with early diagnosis and treatment, children can often lead to normal life.

Possible Treatment

1. Surgical procedure- in this a surgery creates a way to drain away excess fluid which Provide relief in short term.

2. In the long run , some people go for cerebral shunts which involves the placement of ventricular catheter into the ventricle to bypass the fluid obstruction and drain the excess fluid into other body cavities, where it can be reabsorbed.

Symptoms

1. Change in head like an unusually large head or increase in size of head.

2. Physical signs like vomiting, sleepiness, irritability, poor growth.

3. Headache, blurred vision, unstable balance , poor appetite.

Nutrition Information
