Dehydration: It is a kind of reaction which involves loss of water from the reactant or intermediate. Examples of Dehydrating agents are sulfuric acid and alumina.
Catalysis: is the process of changing the rate of a chemical reaction by adding a species which itself doesnot take part in the reaction.
Catalysis can be positive or negative. Positive catalysis will increase the rate of reaction whereas negative catalysis will decrease the rate of reaction.
