Answer #1

The hospital consumer assessment of healthcare providers and systems survey tracks patients perceptions of their care in the hospital. This survey asks a series of 10 questions to the patients which includes nurse communication, pain management, responsiveness of staff, communication about medications, discharge instructions and willingness to recommend the hospital to others. Rounding means a process of collecting information through questioning and observation. The reasons why nurse rounding increases the score are:
• Improved communication: It results in better patient and nurse communication which leads to a positive patient experience.
• Routine drives compliance: Technology can be used to simplify rounding and make the staff friendly and consistent.
• Accountability increases
• Easily assess pain, position, possessions and potty
• Improved sensory adaptation by knowing the surroundings of the patients
